About the customer - Data Center

This data center focuses on driving innovation and helping their customers define and deliver their own, unique vision. The data center uses many new techniques, which means they are working on the data center infrastructure of tomorrow, today.

For several years, this company has built dozens of medium-sized and mega-large data centers all over the world. By continuing to move the Internet to the places where it is most needed, i.e. to local markets around the world, they continue to grow.

As a pioneer, this organization has built and delivered a full spectrum of data center solutions. They play an important role in optimizing the global supply of and access to content, cloud, networks and applications.

Our collaboration

The first contact was established through the Dutch Datacenter Association (DDA), the trade association for data centers in the Netherlands. They connect market-leading data centers, and have a mission: the strengthening of economic growth and the profiling of the data center sector to government, media and society.

One of the focus areas of the DDA is Energy & Sustainability. The DDA contributes to technical standards through which the data center industry in the Netherlands and beyond can further distinguish itself, and they provide their members with information about relevant market developments during events and through media channels. During one of these events, the data center and Pathema met.

Prolonged heat wave

The datacenter and Pathema recognized each other’s values, and the collaboration became a fact. The high-impact and risk-free IVG technology was implemented in a transparent partnership. Even during a prolonged heat wave, the work could continue as usual, of course while the plant remained in operation. Pathema has linked the more than 100 cooling towers, all of which had their own regulation in terms of water management for replenishment and discharge, into one system. This makes water management a lot more manageable and huge savings have been achieved. By making additional use of alternative water sources, such as reuse of waste water, we can reduce drinking water consumption by up to 95%.
